About

Helen Barber

My approach as a counsellor is thoughtful and non-judgemental.

During our sessions we might talk about your past experiences and relationships and how these might be impacting your life today. We might also think about how you relate to others now and about any patterns of behaviour that might be causing you difficulty.

Alongside my private practice I work with adults at a counselling centre.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.  In line with this, my work is supervised regularly by a qualified supervisor.

My main practice is psychodynamic counselling and I have a BACP accredited diploma in psychodynamic counselling skills. I also have undertaken training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
